The City of Elgin will be hosting its 2nd Annual International Festival (iFest) on Saturday, August 31, 2013. Elgin’s iFest is designed to celebrate the City’s culturally diverse and rich history through music, dance, art, education, and, of course food. As a kick off to iFest, the City will also host a parade. Your organization is being invited to participate in the parade which will begin at 11:00 am. We are seeking entries that reflect and represent the cultural and ethnic composition of our community.
Entries must reflect a cultural theme through one or more of the following: music, displays, dance and costume. An iFest Parade application form and a copy of the parade rules are enclosed with this letter. We ask that you complete and return, along with proof of insurance, no later than August 16, 2013. Elgin iFest parade brings the diverse Elgin community together to showcase, share and celebrate their culture and tradition together as one community. It will keep you on your toes and make you dance! Come watch the high school bands, the multicultural representation from our colleges, wave to our Grand Marshal and feel the energy of the world as it walks walking through downtown Elgin. So let’s bring our own Olympics to Elgin and celebrate the colors of the world!
